Artwork Delivery using Vega's FTP Service
Vega's FTP service enables clients to deliver digital artwork files to our prepress department via the Internet. In order to do this you will require appropriate software as well as Vega's FTP server address, username and current password. The following instructions outline the steps involved:
- Compress your files
Compress and merge your artwork into a single archive file using an application such as WinZip or Stuffit. A single archive file helps to organise your work and will minimise transfer time across the Internet. Ideally, the file should be named with Vega's job number and/or your reference to ease identification.
- Check you have FTP software
This software establishes the connection between your computer and Vega's FTP service. Casual users may wish to try FileZilla (Windows) and CyberDuck (Mac). Both are freely available for download over the Internet and we have some familiarity with each if assistance is required. While Microsoft Windows, through Internet Explorer, and Mac OS X offer some FTP functionality, we recommend a dedicated FTP program for the best experience. Some modern web browsers have plugins that offer the same functionality as a dedicated FTP program, eg. FireFTP for FireFox.
- Get the current password
The current password can be obtained by calling our prepress department on 03 8542 1266, Mon-Fri 6-8pm.
- Connect to the FTP service and login
Start the FTP software and enter the details below:

- Security
We recommend clients protect their files with a password when generating a compressed archive and then advising us by email or phone of this password through our Sales Representatives or our Prepress department.
For frequent users, we recommend requesting a dedicated FTP login account through our Sales Representatives.
